this topic has been created after the english Hfest version...

The aim (at first) was to gather both communities here (UK and FR) and the same idea has been taken for the Hispanics.

The problem is that the level is not the same in each country, so it's difficult for them to come here and to see that a 2M score isn't enough to climb until the first stage, whereas there, it brings you almost right in the clouds...

Keep hoping for some foreigners, but I don't really think the whole communitie will come.

"whereas" is a word I've ever used in my essays or even when I speak with English people (on the phone, at school or somewhere else).

I'm astonished your teachers think they have to forbid its use.

Not forbidding it, but trying to make me avoid using it and replacing it with "while" ^^

If you use "whereas" verytime the context goes right withi it, you can be sure it's going to become more and more boring if we read your essays...

I agree with your teachers then, as they said you to use the term "while" instead of "whereas"...

Therefore, "while" is a bit dangerous to use. I think you already know it, but be very careful with that expression...

Boarf ils sont synonymes pourtant whiles et whereas, ils veulent dire tandis que ^^'
While veut aussi dire pendant, durant et d'autres trucs mais bon en français ces termes sont aussi très proches de tandis que qui peu signifier une simultanéité donc je vois pas où est le problème ^^
Et t'inquiète pas pour mes essais, je varie les connecteurs logiques
